Introducing LEGO SMART Play
The experience coincided with the announcement of LEGO SMART Play, a revolutionary technology unveiled by LEGO, Asad Ayaz of Disney, and Dave Filoni from Lucasfilm during the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Described as a leap forward in LEGO’s offerings, SMART Play utilizes interactive pieces known as SMART Bricks. These special bricks respond to user actions with exciting music, sound effects, and lights, bringing playtime to a new interactive level.
Fans can expect the first LEGO SMART Play sets, featuring "Star Wars" themes, to be released on March 1, making this upcoming launch an exciting addition to the LEGO universe.
An Immersive Interactive Adventure
At the Sphere event, fans had the unique opportunity to engage with LEGO SMART Play in an expansive environment that stretched across 580,000 square feet of the Exosphere. Participants could step into the cockpit of a LEGO "Star Wars" X-Wing and re-enact the thrilling trench run scene from "Star Wars: A New Hope." The interactive experience highlighted the charm of both LEGO and the "Star Wars" franchise, drawing in fans of all ages.

"I’m thrilled to be here celebrating the future of LEGO Star Wars,” Dart shared, capturing the nostalgic joy that the event fostered.
A New Era for LEGO
LEGO SMART Play is not just a new product line; it marks one of the most significant innovations for LEGO since the introduction of the iconic LEGO minifigure in 1978. As this new technology bridges the gap between physical play and digital interaction, fans eagerly await what the future holds.
The collaboration between LEGO, Disney, and Lucasfilm illustrates the power of imagination and creativity in shaping the future of entertainment. The partnership promises an engaging, interactive, and immersive play experience, further intertwining the worlds of LEGO and "Star Wars."
