Double-Decker Buses Take Over the Las Vegas Strip to Showcase Taiwan’s Irresistible Appeal
A Vibrant Campaign on the Las Vegas Strip
Las Vegas, Nevada is synonymous with entertainment and tourism, serving as a global hub where culture meets commerce. In an exciting initiative, the Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) has set its sights on this dynamic city to showcase its exquisite offerings. From October 6 to November 9, 2025, two fully wrapped double-decker buses will navigate the iconic Las Vegas Strip, transforming the bustling streets into a moving gallery for Taiwan’s tourism brand, “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder.”
An Artistic Expression of Natural and Urban Beauty
The exterior design of the buses is a breathtaking ode to Taiwan’s diverse landscape and vibrant cities. Encapsulated under the theme “The Dual Rhythms of City and Nature,” the visuals take onlookers through a captivating journey. Majestic views of Taipei 101 juxtaposed with the serene Qingshui Cliffs in Hualien provide a panorama that speaks to the stunning contrasts found within Taiwan itself. Imagine the lush Alishan tea terraces blanketed in mist or the vivid colors of Hehuanshan’s alpine azaleas against a golden sunset—each scene is designed to entice travelers into exploring this rich tapestry of experiences.
“This is our first large-scale outdoor campaign in Las Vegas,” says Szu-Hsien Lee, Director at TTA’s San Francisco Office. “We aim to immerse people—whether locals, international visitors, or convention attendees—in the sights, colors, and emotions of Taiwan in a familiar setting, right on the roads they travel.”
Strategic Timing to Capture Global Visitors
The campaign’s timing is both intentional and tactical, coinciding with two prominent international exhibitions in Las Vegas: IMEX America 2025 and AAPEX 2025. By strategically positioning the buses between key convention centers and hotel districts, the TTA ensures that business travelers and tourism professionals witness the allure of Taiwan first-hand. This visibility is crucial for reinforcing Taiwan’s presence in the global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) market, enhancing its brand exposure significantly during this bustling period.
A Digital Push for Holiday Travel
Complementing the outdoor campaign is a robust integration of digital marketing efforts aimed at capitalizing on the excitement leading up to the 2025-2026 holiday travel season. The TTA is combining its outdoor initiatives with precision-targeted digital advertisements. “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder” brand videos will stream on high-traffic platforms such as Disney+, Hulu, and YouTube, reaching audiences in pivotal markets like the San Francisco Bay Area, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Reno. By merging out-of-home visibility with digital engagement, the campaign seeks to encourage family and independent travelers to discover Taiwan’s vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes.
Exclusive Flight Offers to Inspire Action
To further incentivize travelers, TTA has collaborated with Taiwan’s major airlines—China Airlines, EVA Air, and STARLUX Airlines—to offer exclusive promotions on San Francisco-Taipei routes. Passengers can simply scan QR codes displayed on the buses to unlock these limited-time offers, designed to convert curiosity into tangible travel bookings:
- China Airlines: Up to 17% off airfares, plus one free stopover in Taiwan for travelers connecting to other Asian destinations.
- EVA Air: Special discounts on flights to Taiwan and other Asian locales.
- STARLUX Airlines: Enjoy two free stopovers in Taiwan, as well as an additional 5% discount on select itineraries.
These promotional strategies encourage travelers to “see the ad, take action,” effectively bridging the gap between inspiration and real travel decisions.
Expanding Taiwan’s North American Presence
This campaign on the Las Vegas Strip marks a pivotal moment in Taiwan’s ongoing mission to expand its influence across North America. Building on solid foundations within the U.S. West Coast, the TTA plans to further amplify its MICE marketing, visual storytelling, and airline partnerships to engage the travel industry meaningfully. The goal is clear: to enable more travelers to “See Taiwan, Love Taiwan.”
