Spiegelworld Kicks Off Summer with New Show at The Cosmopolitan | Kats | Entertainment

In the vibrant landscape of Las Vegas entertainment, the spirit of a party never truly dies. This is especially evident in the eclectic offerings of Ross Mollison and his creative enterprise, Spiegelworld. With the much-anticipated opening of “The Party” on July 10 at The Cosmopolitan, Mollison’s signature flair for immersive experiences shines brightly once again.

Located in a cozy 50-seat boutique space named the Blue Room, this new dinner show occupies the lively corridor between Superfrico restaurant and the former “OPM” theater. The ambiance is enriched by a whimsical mechanical theater piece created by Mark Ogge, encapsulating the playful essence that Spiegelworld is known for. Running from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays, the show promises a unique dining experience with a single seating each night, priced at $150 per guest.

“Yes, I want this to be fun,” Mollison affirms, encapsulating the core idea of his show. It’s not just a meal; it’s a blend of culinary delights and captivating performances, all designed to create an exhilarating night out. Every 15 minutes, guests can expect to be entertained by specialty acts, ensuring that no two evenings are ever the same.

In the face of a 7.8 percent drop in tourism in Las Vegas, Mollison remains cautiously optimistic. “This is a good way to launch something this summer,” he notes, recognizing the current challenges but also highlighting the opportunity for new beginnings. Unlike many, he sees potential where others might hesitate, stating, “We’re not scared. We’re always opening things when everybody else is scared or not doing anything.”

The vacant “OPM” theater stands as a testament to potential, with MGM Resorts International yet to announce any new projects for the space. While currently utilized primarily for acts warming up for Superfrico and “The Party,” it remains a pivotal part of the evolving entertainment landscape in the city.

Mitch Emge, Executive Chef at Superfrico, will curate a three-course menu for “The Party,” adding to the experience’s overall appeal. Leading the entertainment will be Laurie Hagen, a dynamic performer with a rich background in the London and Berlin cabaret scenes. Her presence alongside a diverse lineup ensures an exciting night, combining culinary and artistic excellence into one seamless experience.

The depth of Spiegelworld’s offerings continues to flourish, with the Artery, Studio, and Ski Lodge providing additional venues for engaging dining and entertainment. Mollison describes it as “a whole world of interesting adventures,” underscoring the multifaceted nature of experiences available at Superfrico.

Meanwhile, work is underway on the “DiscoShow” at the Linq Hotel, focusing on enhancing the production’s lighting. Mollison mentions the importance of artist engagement, indicating an exciting period of creative collaboration as they push their artists to take center stage more actively.

On a different note, the Biletnikoff Foundation celebrated its 21st year Hall of Fame Invitational recently, gathering sports legends and fans alike at DragonRidge Country Club. With previous Super Bowl MVPs like Fred Biletnikoff, Jim Plunkett, and Marcus Allen in attendance, the foundation’s efforts to support young people through community initiatives against substance abuse and domestic violence were highlighted.

From past sports heroes to contemporary entertainers, the spirit of Las Vegas is encapsulated in its blend of talent. Notably, Josh Groban is set to bring his residency to the Colosseum in May, providing a platform for local singers and musicians alongside his powerful performances. Additionally, **C.J. Jefferson**, lead singer for the latest version of The Spinners, will be performing at the Italian American Showroom, showcasing his take on Teddy Pendergrass’s hits.
