Sam Ventura reflects on the growth of the Israeli community: “When we arrived, there were 300 families and very few Israeli restaurants; today, there are 12,000 Israelis.” Young Israelis often arrive in the city after military service, initially working in kiosks before settling down and starting their own businesses.
